FAQ
Before sending for data recovery
Can I do my own recovery work?
Yes you can, but only if you are sure that the failure is logical in nature such as a simple file deletion and disk format. If you suffer from data loss which is physical in nature, you need to send your storage media to a professional data recovery outfit. Attempt to such cases may do more harm than good.Firstly, you need to determine the failure type and if it is logical in nature, try to follow our DIY data recovery guide to see if it works.
To play safe, before you start any data recovery process, do not work on the original drive directly before making some kind of backup. You may follow our guide on how to create a duplicate or backup disk image using our free data recovery tools. So if some thing should go wrong, you will still have the backup image to look into.
If you feel that your data is extremely important and you do not have the necessary knowledge to do it, or the failure situation is physical and complex, you may want to consult a data recovery specialist.
